Strength in numbers: Ley Lab takes CMFI 2023 by storm

We are members of the “Controlling Microbes to Fight Infections” (CMFI) Cluster of Excellence at the University of Tübingen. We had a dominant showing at this year’s annual CMFI conference with 12 posters and 2 talks: Ruth gave project-overviews and Kelsey Huus, a postdoc, presented how vaccine-induced fevers are associated with diet and the gut microbiome. Postdoc Stacey Heaver won honorable mention for best poster, despite there having been over 100 posters! We already knew that she’s the best poster-maker in the group, as we’ve on multiple occasions used her poster as our templates. The meeting was capped by a lovely dinner accompanied by a brass band, followed by a Swabian DJ with whom many of us ended up partying until midnight.
