New review in Annual Reviews of Microbiology: a roadmap for microbiome engineering

Bringing genetics to the microbiome.

Group leader James Marsh and Ph.D student Christian Kirk this week saw the publication of their review in Annual Review of Microbiology: Toward Microbiome Engineering: Expanding the Repertoire of Genetically Tractable Members of the Human Gut Microbiome! Microbiome engineering is currently a hot topic in the microbiome field and in this review, Marsh & Kirk discuss the ongoing barriers for applying traditional genetic manipulation techniques to the gut microbiome and articulate a vision for achieving community-wide engineering. Congratulations James and Christian!
