Now in bioRxiv: Human salivary amylase gene copy number impacts oral and gut microbiomes

A new research article from Dr. Angela C. Pole and collaborators from our lab entitled "Human salivary amylase gene copy number impacts oral and gut microbiomes" has just been posted in bioRxiv. In this paper, it is shown the relationship between the copy number of the human salivary amylase gene and the oral gut microbiome. In fact, although diet standardization drove gut microbiome convergence, AMY1-CN influenced oral and gut microbiome composition and function.
